The Gambia Police Force will embark on a recruitment process of personnel who are expected serve under the Police Intervention Unit (PIU), the armed wing of the Force. Interested persons must possess the following qualifications:
1. Must be Gambian and be between the ages of 18 to 35.
2. Applicants are required to have a minimum of Grade 12 WASSCE Certificate or it’s equivalent, with at least two credits and two passes.
3. They are required to have a height of at least 1.70m for male and 1.65m for female.
5. Interested persons are expected to be physically and mentally healthy.
6. Must be without any criminal record.
Application forms are available and can be purchased from all Regional Police Headquarters and major police stations across the country from Friday 11th February 2022 at a non-refundable fee of One Hundred Dalasis (D100).
All forms should be filled and attached with copies of School Certificates, a national document (Birth Certificate, ID Card or Passport), TIN Certificate and submitted at any of the Regional Police Headquarters on or before Monday 21st February 2022.
The recruitment team will be conducting interviews at Regional Police Headquarters as follows:
Monday 21st February 2022
Kerewan (NBR)- 0900hrs to 1600hrs
Tuesday 22nd February 2022
Janjangbureh (CRR)- 0900hrs to 1600hrs
Wednesday 23rd February 2022
Basse (URR)- 0900hrs to 1600hrs
Thursday 24th February 2022
Mansa Konko (LRR)- 0900hrs to 1600hrs
The selection for Westcoast, Kanifing and Banjul Regions will be conducted on the same dates as follows:
Monday 21st February 2022
Police Training School Banjulinding (WCR)- 0900hrs to 1600hrs
Tuesday 22nd February 2022
Police Intervention Unit Kanifing (KM)- 0900hrs to 1600hrs
Wednesday 23rd February 2022
Police Lines Banjul (BJL)- 0900hrs to 1600hrs
It is important to note that the PIU is the armed wing of the Police Force with functions ranging from Public Order Management, State Guard Security, VIP Protection, Vicinity patrols, Border patrols, Tourist Security, among others.
All interested persons are reminded that, they should come along with their original certificates and national documents for verification. They are equally urged to be punctual on the stated dates for selections.
Individuals with special skills in self defense and marshal arts are encouraged to apply.
